Semia, a wedding florist, has always adored anything to do with plants or flowers. Her love of these things came largely in part from her mother, who taught her all about gardening. It’s no surprise that the couple chose to marry in the month of May, the perfect time of year to incorporate into the décor the blossoming cherry and dogwood trees, tulips, lilacs, and bleeding heart from the bride’s parents’ garden. “Amongst the many vari-eties of flowers in my bridal bouquet,” says Semia, “I specifically chose white French lilac and white bleeding heart from my parents’ yard. That way, I could carry with me something from their garden, a place so influential in shaping my career.”

The Glen Manor was the perfect place to showcase this spring wedding. The bride fell in love with every aspect of Glen Manor the moment she saw it. She remembers, “It was grand yet very intimate, with absolutely beautiful grounds.” The theme of the wedding was “woodland glam,” a mix of natural materials accented by a bit of glitz. At the reception, no two tables looked alike, as each displayed a unique and breathtaking centerpiece. The mantles were adorned with tons of candlelight, moss, branches, diamonds, and decorative woodland butterflies and dragonflies.

Other big hits of the night were the photo booth and the portico, which was transformed into an outdoor living room. Along with the white couches and orange pillows, a gorgeous dragonfly (the image used on the invitations and programs) was projected onto the ceiling of the portico to complete the look. Reminiscing of the day, the couple says, “Our favorite memory was our first dance to ‘At Last,’ by Etta James. We laughed, smiled, hugged, and kissed throughout the entire song. Spending those few minutes together (even if everyone was watching) was truly the best feeling.”
